After defeating the dragon and securing the keys from the standing stones beside Lake Stormunder at the base of Mount Rimeskull, we rested for a night to heal and replenish our spells. The next morning, we ascended the stairs leading up Rimeskull, coming to a platform in front of a mountain cave resembling the shape of a human mouth. When we moved toward the entrance, we were set upon by a quartet of elementals, representing the four primary elements.
After that long, grueling fight, we entered the cave and wound our way through the mountain until we came to a frigid chamber with seven standing stones in a circle around an eighth stone. We took the large pile of treasure we found there, assuming it was part of the the white dragon’s hoard. We then used the keys we had obtained to activate the standing stones, which opened a portal to some other place. We entered the portal and proceeded through a long tunnel until we arrived at the place we assume to be Runeforge. The central chamber was surrounded by huge stone statues and tunnels leading back into the mountain. In the center of the chamber was a pool of what can only be described as liquid magic.
Heading down the shortest of the seven tunnels, we found evidence of an ancient magical battle and we were hit by a blast from a malfunctioning magic cancellation rod, rendering some of our equipment useless. We then backtracked to the foyer and entered another tunnel, finding an opulent cathedral-like chamber bedecked with silk sheets, pornographic pillars and paintings, and cages filled with corpses – except one caged person was not quite dead.
